Exterior – Ram Dealer serving Long Island NY

Security Ram, your local Ram dealer serving Long Island Amityville Jericho Westbury, offers two cab styles for the 2021 and 2020 Ram 1500: a quad cab and a crew cab. These are both extended cabs, but the quad has smaller rear-opening rear doors whereas the crew has all full-size doors. Ram pairs the quad cab with a bed that measures 6 feet 4 inches and the crew cab with your choice of that bed or a shorter one that measures 5 foot 7 inches. The Tradesman, Big Horn and Laramie are available in all cab-bed combinations. The Tradesman HFE has the quad cab. The Rebel offers the quad cab and the crew cab but only with the short bed. The Limited Longhorn and Limited are only available with the crew cab but offer both bed options, and the TRX comes with the crew cab and the short bed.

Both cabs available at our location serving Long Island Amityville Jericho Westbury can seat either five or six depending on which front seats you choose. The quad and crew both provide about 41 inches of front legroom. The quad affords about 36 inches of rear legroom, which is adequate for adult passengers. But the crew affords about 45 inches. That coupled with the independent rear doors makes the crew more convenient and practical if you will regularly have adult passengers in the rear seat. Two big changes that set the 2021 model apart from the 2020 Ram 1500 are the heads-up display, which displays important information via the windshield, and the auto-dimming digital rearview mirror, which provides real-time video that lets you see out the back of the truck even if the bed is loaded high with cargo.

Ram 1500 Mechanical specs

Perhaps no aspect of comparing the 2021 Ram 1500 vs 2020 Ram 1500 on Long Island has received more attention than the TRX. It boasts a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine that makes 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, which is far more than the Ford Raptor Ram intends to compete with. Other than the TRX, the powertrain lineup is carried over from the 2020 Ram 1500. All models have an eight-speed automatic transmission. In most cases, rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional. The exceptions are the TRX, which is only available with four-wheel drive, and the Tradesman HFE, which is only available with rear-wheel drive. The base model has a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 305 hp and 269 lb.-ft. Optional engines include a 5.7-liter V8 rated for 395 hp and 410 lb.-ft. and 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine rated for 260 hp and 480 lb.-ft. These options are not available with the Tradesman HFE, and the V8 becomes standard starting with the Laramie trim.

Safety – 2021 Ram 1500 dealer

Two notable changes for the 2021 model are the additions of pedestrian detection to the Advanced Safety Group and wider availability for the forward collision mitigation system. The Level 1 Safety Group is available with the non-HFE Tradesman and adds advanced brake assist, a 3.5-inch digital cluster, full-speed forward-collision warning plus, lane keep assist, pedestrian emergency braking and an auto-dimming non-digital rearview mirror. The Big Horn gives you access to the driver assists but also the new features added for 2021. Even better, the Laramie includes the Level 1 Safety Group and gives you access to blind-spot monitoring, automatic high beams and a parking assistance system.
